Shamanism
Dr. Gregory Miller, a dedicated practitioner of Shamanism since his twenties, firmly believes in the significance of personal spiritual practices for overall well-being.
He incorporates shamanic principles into his daily work, emphasizing Shamanism’s universal aspects. A key element of his shamanic practice includes shifting his consciousness through natural techniques like repetitive drumming, enabling him to uncover their hidden spiritual potential and assist others on their journeys. Dr. Miller’s shamanic practice helps him empower individuals to tap into their inner wisdom and healing abilities for the betterment of themselves and those around them.
Insofar as he is a medical doctor, Dr. Miller leans heavily into his chosen modalities to address the needs of his patients. However, he has long held that shamanism deserves a unique place at the table of medicine, and he nods to the history of spirituality in medicine.
Dr. Miller has promoted events on medical shamanism to draw attention to the possibility of incorporating these worlds. He believes the shaman has a unique role in providing spiritual guidance and medical interventions, creating a holistic approach to healing.
Shamanistic medicine can take two forms: it may adhere to traditional practices or blend ancient shamanic techniques with modern science and medicine, demonstrating its adaptability. Dr. Miller approaches shamanism and health treatment from the second point of view.
Please let him know if you want to incorporate shamanic practices into your treatment plan with Dr. Miller. While not required to work with Dr. Miller, many patients find that a more holistic approach offers unexpected insights. Read on to learn more about Dr. Miller’s Shamanic training

Dr. Miller’s journey through shamanism is quite an adventure! He’s had remarkable training experiences with big names like The Foundation for Shamanic Studies, Sandra Ingerman, Michael Harner, and The Four Winds Society. He even learned from indigenous teachers, like the insightful Ecuadorian Iachak, Don Alberto Taxo. Even more fascinating is that he played a crucial role in setting up The Society for Shamanic Practice, being one of the founding Board of Directors members and a Founding Member.
Dr. Miller has a lovely way of blending his deep shamanic knowledge with his medical work. To him, everything in our world has a physical and spiritual side. So, he weaves together Western Medicine and Functional Medicine with the spiritual wisdom of shamanism. It’s not just his profession; it’s his passion. Bringing these worlds together brings him immense joy because, in the end, it’s all about bringing balance and healing to the people he serves.

Soul Retrieval: Imagine a shaman embarking on a journey into the spirit realm to fetch back lost pieces of someone’s soul. Life’s challenging moments can sometimes make us lose a bit of ourselves, but soul retrieval is like a soul-reunion party that restores a sense of wholeness and well-being.
Extraction: This one’s all about kicking out those pesky intruders or negative vibes from a person’s energy space. The shaman spots these unwanted energies and gives them the boot, creating a serene and harmonious atmosphere.
Power Retrieval: Ever felt like you’ve lost your mojo? Well, power retrieval is like calling in the spiritual support squad. The shaman connects with helpful spirits to bring back that missing personal power and pop it right back into your energy mix.
Psychopomp: The shaman acts as a cosmic GPS for souls on their afterlife journey. He helps souls find their way to the next chapter, bridging the gap between this world and the next.
Sound Healing: Shamanic practitioners use instruments like drums, rattles, or singing bowls to whisk us away to different states of consciousness. It’s like a musical magic carpet ride for healing.

Energy Clearing: Need a cosmic spring cleaning? The shaman might use feathers, crystals, or sound to sweep away gunky, stuck energy hanging around. Fresh starts and balance are the goals here.
These are just the tip of the shamanic iceberg. Every shaman brings their style to the table, influenced by their training and where they come from. It’s also worth noting that shamanic healing isn’t a one-person show – it often dances in harmony with physical healers, herbal remedies, dietary changes, and more. We blend worlds to help you find balance and wellness.
